What you’ll do:

The Emerging Talent Software Engineers (ETSE) cohort is designed for aspiring software engineers who have gained their technical skillset through non-traditional pathways.

In this full-time position as a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you will join a cohort of peers who come from a variety of professional backgrounds. For your first two years at the firm, you will receive professional development support to advance your skills, assigned program managers, and ongoing support from peers and mentors. Tech stack needed for vast majority of JPMorgan Chase & co. openings is Full-stack Java.

Valued qualities

JPMorgan Chase & co. is committed to hiring candidates with 0-2 years of Software Engineering experience from all different backgrounds, and to building dynamic, diverse teams including, but not limited to, individuals from groups that are underrepresented in the technology space. JPMorgan Chase & co. is seeking those who have obtained their foundational coding skills in non-traditional ways including, but not limited to, technology bootcamps, workforce development programs, and community colleges. This opportunity is not for individuals currently enrolled in a full-time college or university program.

You should have excellent coding skills, self-motivation to solve problems, and take initiative for owning your projects. In this full-time position as a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase & Co., you will join a cohort of peers who come from a variety of professional backgrounds. During your time in this two-year program as an Emerging Talent Software Engineer, you will receive ongoing support from peers and mentors, professional development opportunities to advance your skills, assigned program managers, and access to senior leaders.

This program will provide you with what you need to succeed and develop your career as a software engineer.

On-the-job experience

Our two-year program is designed to make sure you’re supported and learning new skills. You’ll get immersed in creating innovative solutions that make a difference for our customers, clients and employees, from the start. You’ll have outlined objectives and projects where you’ll see tangible results from your work used across our business.

 You’ll be fully integrated into our technology community with the opportunity to attend social events, tech talks, interact with senior leaders, and more.

Training

Many of our Emerging Talent Software Engineers have joined with less than one year of coding under their belt. Before you are immersed into your role, you will learn about our businesses, build on your knowledge of development methodologies, and develop your professional skills through our robust orientation and induction training program. 

You’ll have access to continuous training both on-the-job and via courses to build your technical and business skills. We’ll cover topics ranging from various coding languages to presentation skills to further your career development. Our teams are dedicated to your support and advocacy throughout the two years of the program.

Once you’ve successfully completed the program, there will be opportunity for advancement in our Technology organization based on your performance. Our culture of continuous learning will help you to take your career further. As you grow, you’ll also be able to explore opportunities with many teams in various functions across our company.
