Frontend Developer – New Apps Team

We are looking for a Frontend Developer who is enthusiastic about crafting remarkable user experiences, motivated to join a vibrant team, and thrilled to be transforming the landscape of small business financing at iwoca.co.uk.

Responsibilities:

You’ll join the New Applications team. You’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing our lending proposition and collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine our product offering. The team has ownership of the tech from the moment a new customer signs up to apply for a loan to the moment they have been assessed by our team.

We work with a modern tech stack, including React, Redux, Next.js, and React Query, as well as TypeScript to elevate our codebase. Our API is powered by a Django app, and we’re committed to staying at the forefront of technological advancements by continually evaluating if we are using the right tools for the job.

There’ll be plenty of opportunities to make an impact and develop your skills, we invest in research to find the best possible outcomes. Our way of working is like a ‘data meritocracy’, meaning you’ll factor project time in for research, and make decisions that are evidence-based.

Qualifications:

• Extensive frontend software engineering experience.
• Experience from a tech product background.
• Mastery of TypeScript, React, Redux or similar technologies
• Strong grasp of automated testing tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Enzyme.
• Proven track record of owning features end-to-end in tech product settings.
• Passionate about mentoring, coaching, and leading fellow engineers.
• Collaboration experience with backend engineers.
• Bonus points for an interest in Python.
