As a Junior Front End Developer, you will collaborate with other team members to develop user-friendly and maintainable websites, apps, and other digital products. Your clean, efficient, and well-documented front-end code will meet our high-quality standards. You will conduct thorough testing to ensure proper functionality and participate in code reviews to improve overall quality and maintainability.

Leveraging your technical skills and knowledge, you will contribute to the development of innovative software solutions that enhance our clients’ experiences. Your ability to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in UX development will enable you to excel in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the UX design team to translate wireframes and mockups into front-end builds using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as modern frameworks such as Tailwind, React, VueJS, and Yii2.
  • Ensure that front-end builds are responsive, meet accessibility and usability standards, and provide an exceptional user experience across all devices and platforms.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets established coding standards and is easy for others to work with.
  • Participate in code reviews to improve code quality and maintainability, providing constructive feedback and implementing changes as needed.
  • Conduct usability testing, and data analysis to gain insights and ensure a high level of build quality, optimising the user experience and engagement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, collaborating with the development team to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Participate in team meetings to review project progress, discuss new ideas, and collaborate on problem-solving to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
  • Assist the UX design team in their creation of wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and other design artefacts to ensure feasibility and smooth implementation.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in UX development, sharing your knowledge and recommendations with the team to continually improve our processes and offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in front-end web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, VueJS, etc.
  • Understanding of common software design patterns and concepts
  • Familiarity with common workflow tools including Git and NodeJS.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to promptly resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a development team.
  • Proficiency in at least one back-end language such as PHP, Ruby, Python, etc. is preferred but not required.
  • A degree in software/computer engineering or a related field is desirable but not required. Relevant work experience and a strong portfolio will also be considered.
