Job Purpose

As a Junior Product Manager reporting to the Senior Director for MSAT and Quality D&A team you will be aligned to a Senior Product Manager to own/manage D&A products within their portfolio with their support and oversight.  This will include the GxP-validated statistical tools that make up our self-service statistics offering. The Senior Product Manager will mentor and assist you in your tasks, ensuring your professional growth.

Acting as the bridge between the business functions and GSK’s Digital & Technology teams, you will work closely with business leads, especially in the statistical community to understand and anticipate their needs.  You will also work closely with other D&A Product Managers, data/tech specialists (including platform and application support), procurement and external vendors to ensure the needs of the statistical community are met today and into the future.

Day-to-day you will use your business domain, product management and general tech expertise to manage relationships with customers, vendors and other key stakeholders, to ensure ongoing compliance of your products, to drive performance of product support and to maintain the product roadmap.  Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing an annual budgetary spend as you work with up to 5 third-party data/tech specialists.

The statistical tools currently in-scope of this role include Statistica, Design Expert, Simca and Spotfire. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Understanding needs, business processes and data & analytical requirements of customer-groups and users, primarily in the statistical community
  • Managing key business relationships for your products, including the Business Unit Statistical Product Business Owners, compliance and audit functions and vendors from technology and process perspective
  • Maintaining and evolving a clear roadmap for statistical self-service ensuring it continues to deliver value in line with strategies and priorities of customers
  • Oversee managed service support team ensuring performance against agreed metrics
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance and audit-readiness of GXP statistics tools and service (review/approve documents, ‘own’ risks and assets)
  • Leading and/or managing projects and key activities as required, for example: version upgrades, audits
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure Stats offering is well aligned and integrated into wider Data & Analytics portfolio
  • Engaging with D&A Architecture team and others to ensure Statistical Products remain aligned with target architecture and established standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification to Degree-level (e.g. Data or Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent technical field)
  • Experience of Product Ownership/Management including managing day-to-day operations and stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with working under a mature Quality Management System (QMS), ideally within the Pharmaceutical or another regulated industry (GxP, SoX, GDPR etc.)
  • Experience working with partners across multicultural global organisation (English language skills required to be proficient in speaking and writing)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding and experience of operating in a cloud environment, ideally Azure
  • Exposure to GxP-validated systems
  • Experience with service management
  • Specific knowledge and experience with one or more of the following statistical tools: Design Expert, SIMCA, Statistica, Spotfire
  • Agile Product Management certification e.g. SAFe
  • Experience with managing vendors and suppliers including contract negotiation
