Description:
We are looking for a junior user researcher for a 7-month contract as a cover for parental leave. In this role you’ll be embedded in a cross-disciplinary product team consisting of a product manager, a designer and developers. You’ll conduct research primarily with our customers, but occasionally with externally recruited participants when necessary. You’ll provide insights to help the team shape and improve product solutions and effectively prioritize across initiatives.
Most commonly our research projects involve customer IDIs and observation, conducted remotely. We frequently analyze customer feedback, customer requests, and product usage data. Our researchers also conduct usability testing, concept and prototype testing, unmoderated studies and tree testing from time to time. Our researchers may conduct in-person contextual enquiry / ethnography or quantitative surveys, but this happens rarely

Responsibilities:
- Identify research questions and areas of improvement of our product
- Design and lead research projects throughout the product development lifecycle, from open exploration to the iteration of released features
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative primary research and desk research:
- Communicate insights and findings clearly and effectively across the business in engaging formats, tailoring your communication to the context and audience at hand and bringing the needs and experiences of our users to the forefront for colleagues
- Conduct continuous research to keep the pulse of user satisfaction and pain points
- Identify ways to improve research practices and collaborate with other researchers to develop our research practice
Qualifications:
- A researcher with 1-2 years experience in a UX / product development environment, whether in-house or agency-side
- A clear communicator who collaborates well with colleagues from other disciplines and backgrounds
- A self-starter who’s happy to roll up their sleeves and get going with minimal supervision from day one
- Pragmatic, comfortable conducting research in a constrained and fast-paced environment, and able to evaluate tradeoffs of speed vs rigour
- Curious about the needs of people at work and how organizations can use technology to improve their resource management, project management and financial performance
- Excited about working on a B2B SaaS product as part of an agile team
- Familiar with frameworks for human-centered research and product development (e.g. Jobs-To-Be-Done, the Double Diamond, Shape Up
