About the Role
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Payroll Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance Department. This position will oversee payroll, billing, general ledger, and provide back up support to accounts payable processing functions.
Responsibilities:
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis using the Paycom Human Resources Information System
- Assure payroll reporting is accurate including quarterly and annual tax documents
- Prepare payroll for employees ensuring correct cost accounting information for programs is provided and recorded
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll files and records
- Researches and resolves employee questions, issues and concerns related to payroll processing
- Supports Finance Department with various department needs such as client and contract billing, general ledger, financial reports and other needs as determined by the Chief Financial Officer
- Supports Finance Department with audit needs as determined by the Chief Financial Officer
- Work with the Accounts Payable to learn AP processing systems and provide back-up to Accounts Payable processing as needed
- Work directly with the CFO to provide project management document department processes and procedures in a consistent and usable format
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of accounting experience to include general ledger, financial statements, payroll, accounts payable and receivable is preferred
- Degree in Accounting related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with HRIS systems (ideally Paycom)
- Sound technical skills, analytical abilities, good judgement including ability to effectively use financial IT tools, systems and programs
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to employees and vendors, contractors and business partners
- Well organized and self-directed

- Ability to communicate and interact effectively, both orally and in writing with a broad range of individuals, including staff, vendors, and volunteers
