We are looking for a TEST ANALYST. Junifer is our principal application for supporting customer engagement and billing, for energy suppliers. It interacts using Dataflows via various adapters to industry data management and service providers.

To support and contribute to the development of test and quality practices for Gentrack by actively contributing, independently or collaborating as part of a cross functional project team, Product owners and Customer Success Managers, across core and customer projects. Operating within best practice is essential to this role, as is a team mind-set.

At a Senior level, you have some experience under your belt and are familiar with the documentation needs in a product development environment. You will need to be a self-starter and capable of assessing the gaps in our technical writing and put a plan in place to address these.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contributing to the refinement of product development Backlog and Sprint planning
  • Ensuring task planning activities fit well to the actual work required to complete a story
  • Reviewing Change Requests/User Stories/Acceptance Criteria
  • Supporting test activities, test scope and coverage, identification of test conditions, participating and contributing in task estimation
  • Design and execute appropriate test cases
  • Progress updates in the daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
  • Extending, maintaining and improving test validity across changing product landscape
  • Defect and Bug reporting defects adhering to internal defect guidelines
  • Periodic reporting of progress for internal/external audiences, and retesting of any defect fixes
  • Continuing to contribute to implementing and improving the processes, and practices

Experience Required:

  • 5+ year’s experience in a Commercial Software Development environment
  • Utility/Energy/Water supplier industry experiences eg with Customer service requests and billing operations(desired)
  • Working knowledge of STLC, Testing in Agile practices
  • Application testing (UI and Api) through System
  • Being proficient in both functional and some non-functional areas of testing
  • Proficient in Transaction Sql, and Enterprise database operations
  • Software testing Foundation through ISTQB, CAST or TAU

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Software testing Practitioner certification through ISTQB, CAST or TAU
  • Tools; Jira, Test Management eg TestRail, Xray. Postman,
  • Experience in development of API automation frameworks using RESTful libraries
  • SDLC tools; Git or Bitbucket
