All Help Desk personnel need excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a customer-friendly attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment. In addition, they should have a strong technical understanding of the various software, hardware, and networking systems they will regularly support. The employer’s requirements will depend on the Help Desk position level.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to customers via phone, email, and chat.
  • Manage and support customer networks, equipment, and services.
  • Develop customer relationships through excellent customer service.
  • Document issues and solutions via ticketing and internal knowledge base.
  • Onboard new hires and provision desktop equipment.
  • Document tickets to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with staff, customers, and vendors – recognizing and escalating more difficult problems to Tier II support.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as agreed by the Tier I Support team. When on call, be prepared to address technical issues.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task and organize priorities in a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining a high level of focus and accuracy.
  • Must own a reliable vehicle and come into the office.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Nice to have:

  • Previous Managed Service Provider or IT Services firm experience
  • Experience with ConnectWise, Labtech, Cisco Meraki, Proofpoint
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft or CompTIA
  • Experience with Microsoft Server or VMWare Server
  • Experience with scripting and automation
  • Experience with Apple products
  • Experience with VOIP solutions
  • Military DD-214

Schedule:

  • 8 hour day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call rotations during weekends and holidays

Work Location: In person

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $37,440.00 – $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
