Description:
We are looking for an Application Rationalization and Portfolio Management Specialist who can analyze IT systems for redundancy, technology fitness, and total cost of ownership. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT systems and applications and the ability to assess their effectiveness and value to the organization. In this role, the candidate will play a key role in optimizing IT systems, reducing costs, and improving overall efficiency. The ideal candidate will leverage Enterprise architecture, Business analytics, and other industry-leading frameworks like the TIME model to perform the IT rationalization tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of the IT portfolio to identify rationalization opportunities.
- Analyze IT systems and applications for redundancy, technology fitness, and total cost of ownership.
- Should be able to understand the TBM Framework and gather cost details per the framework and perform total cost of ownership analysis.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and facilitate discussions and workshops to gather input and feedback.
- Analyze data and use data-driven insights to make recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for application rationalization and consolidation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and priorities.
- Develop application rationalization plans and recommendations – assist with implementation of rationalization plans.
- Monitor and report on the progress of rationalization efforts – stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in application rationalization.
- Apply technical expertise to assess systems architecture.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, Enterprise Architecture, Cost Modeling, and BI/Analytics.
- Strong understanding of IT systems and applications
- Ability to analyze IT systems and applications for redundancy, technology fitness, and total cost of ownership.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in one of data analytics tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.,
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to create coherent deliverables in MS Office formats.
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in application rationalization
- Preferred: (minimum of two years of experience)
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Ability to conduct a comprehensive asset inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
- Experience working with Federal or DoD agencies.
- Familiarity with DoDAF, TOGAF, and other EA concepts
- Experience with IT governance and compliance
- Ability to classify the assets into categories, such as active, inactive, surplus, and end-of-life. This will help determine the status of each asset and determine the best course of action.
- Familiarity with TBM models and how to determine the total cost of ownership, including hardware, software, licenses, maintenance, and support costs.
