Description:

We are seeking a Project Manager-Scrum Master to join our team in support of a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with and supports multiple Scrum and Kanban teams to develop and groom backlogs for product and service delivery.
  • Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and demos.
  • Manage and update JIRA to provide transparency on product backlogs and in-progress work.
  • Coaches’ others in usage of Agile techniques, such as Scrum, Kanban, Feature Driven Development (FDD), etc.
  • Evaluates activities for continuous improvement of teams.
  • Serves as Agile SME and business process improvement consultant.
  • Comfortable stepping in as a surrogate project manager or coordinator

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Seven (7) years’ experience as a Project Manager, Project Analyst, or Scrum Master.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and SAFe principles, agile methodologies, and lean practices.
  • Demonstrated ability in performing Scrum Master duties to include leading agile ceremonies, backlog grooming sessions, scrum meetings and communicating team velocity and sprint/release progress.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
    • Prior VA or Federal Agency experience preferred. Prior Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) experience is a plus.
    • Ability to provide occasional support for after-hours activities.
    • Excellent and proactive interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, team player with attention to detail.
    • Ability to establish personal & team schedules, deadlines, and accountability.
  • CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Certified Scrum Master (SCM), Project Management Institute PMI-ACP, or SAFe SA, SSM, SASM certification.
    • Project Management Institute PMP, CAPM, or similar certification is desired but not required.
  • EDUCATION:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific /technical discipline.
    • Five (5) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • CLEARANCE:
    • Must be a US Citizen.
    • Must have or be able to attain Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust Suitability Determination.
  • WORK LOCATION:
    • Washington, DC
