Job Summary

Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Edits new and existing applications. Implements, testing and debugging defined software components. Documents all development activity. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new software and web applications using Python and Golang
  • Work with Cassandra, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL databases, and cloud infrastructure, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs
  • Support applications under development and customize current applications
  • Assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications
  • Document all development activity
  • Research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products
  • Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements
  • Conduct analysis to determine integration needs
  • Display in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills, and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty
  • Display in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design, and redesign skills;
  • present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal audiences
  • Work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specifications and technical requirements. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field,Prior 3+ years of experience in software engineering with one of programming languages: Python, Golang, Java; working with Cassandra, MongoDB, or any other NoSQL database; of which two (2) year of experience includes working with cloud infrastructure, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure; developing RESTful APIs; and developing software using Golang, Python.
