Description:

This is a contract position for a UX Designer – Senior for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: Seven Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory
requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities:

  • Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
  • Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs.
  • Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes General Skills.

Qualifications:

  • Has demonstrated experience in a range of the following service design and user experience techniques: User needs mapping; User research (exploratory and evaluative); Stakeholder mapping; Personas; Customer journey mapping; Collaborative design; Prototyping; Service blueprinting.
  • Expertise at .NET design and development on all tiers.
  • Expertise with full software development life cycle.
  • UI/UX experience with highly intuitive and responsive design.
  • Designing interface for government related projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends and developments in service delivery, digital service design and leading edge technology related to digital service design and in-person service delivery models.
  • Has a proven willingness to take calculated risks, get it wrong, learn from feedback, work with determination to overcome setbacks and refocus the approach on obtaining positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for cooperativeness, co-design and facilitation. Shows respect for the opinions of others, a willingness to share information and the ability to build rapport with clients, stakeholders, vendors and colleagues. Can delegate, prioritize and has the ability to motivate others.
