We are seeking a skilled and experienced DB2 Linux Database Administrator to join our team on a short-term basis with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database administration, particularly with DB2 LUW/Linux environments, and be adept at handling backup and recovery tasks, as well as performance tuning

*East Coast Hours

Responsibilities:

  • Perform database administration tasks such as backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning, and database maintenance.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficient operation.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to troubleshoot database-related issues.
  • Ensure database security and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation approximately every 6 weeks, with potential for increased rotation in the initial stages.
  • Support off-hour deployments, primarily during evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a DBA, with a strong emphasis on backup and recovery and performance tuning.
  • Extensive experience with DB2 LUW/Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in Linux command-line operations and shell scripting.
  • Preferred experience with DataStage for ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with on-prem Citrix VM environments preferred.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation and support off-hour deployments as needed.
